On June 22, 2022, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) released a Special Continuum of Care (CoC) Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for competitive funding to support communities to address unsheltered and rural homelessness. This is a first-of-its-kind grant opportunity to provide resources to address unsheltered homelessness and homeless encampments, including set aside funding for rural communities. Applications are due to HUD on October 20, 2022. Escambia-Santa Rosa Counties CoC is eligible for the Unsheltered Homelessness Set-Aside from this NOFO (but not the Rural Homelessness Set-Aside) and plans to apply for these funds.
Special Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) and Application can be found on the Opening Doors NWFL Website Link.
HUD’s website will be updated regularly throughout the competition process with information and materials for local project applicants and stakeholders.
